Roundtable Discussion: EDA Releases RFI on Tech and Innovation Hub Implementation

U.S. EDA has published a Request for Information (RFI) on the Implementation of the Regional Technology and Innovation Hub Program. The Tech Hub program is part of the CHIPS and Science Act, which was signed into law late last year. $500M has been appropriated thus far, and the EDA is looking for feedback on how to structure the program to ensure the best outcomes from federal investments.

AMCC communities are in a uniquely advantageous position to provide feedback to the EDA as all have worked through the process of creating a regional stakeholder network that supports manufacturers. The objectives of the Tech Hub program go beyond direct interventions with manufacturers, and are looking for more holistic, community-driven approaches to ensure that  future Tech Hubs take hold and can thrive for decades.

AMCC’s Matt Bogoshian led a guided discussion through the RFI questions, indicating how AMCC plans to respond, and fielding questions and conversations from AMCC community representatives how their regions and states plan to respond to the RFI.

Reminder! All submissions are due by March 16th, 2023 at 5pm ET.
