Improving Diversity and Equity in Apprenticeships for Manufacturing with JFF

Thank you to JFF’s Melissa MacGregor, Associate Director with JFF’s Center for Apprenticeship & Work-Based Learning, for joining this week’s national call to share her organization’s Improving Diversity and Equity in Apprenticeships for Manufacturing (IDEA-M) initiative.

The IDEA-M project supports manufacturers in creating Registered Apprenticeship programs that align with their workforce goals, placing an emphasis on promoting diversity and equity. By integrating apprenticeships with formal mentorship, strategic partnerships, and targeted outreach, the project aims to cultivate a manufacturing workforce that is more inclusive and diverse.

JFF provides assistance in program development, aligning technical instruction, ensuring compliance with equal employment opportunity and affirmative action plans, fostering diversity and inclusion efforts, and offering financial support for both programs and apprentices.

Thank you Melissa for joining this week’s call, and educating us on how regions can take best advantage of the IDEA-M project. A copy of Melissa’s slides can be obtained here.
