The Necessity of R&D in Fundamental Manufacturing
Last week, we were grateful to welcome Li Shu, Founding Principal and CEO of Golden Aspen Technologies Corp, where he and his team develop and commercialize proprietary technology in precision manufacturing and robotics. An electrical engineer trained at MIT, Li brought a problem to the AMCC network that he sees holding back American industry: the lack of R&D investment in what he calls “fundamental manufacturing,” the core processes that so many industries depend on to move prototype products into volume production here in the US.
Li’s presentation catalyzed a ton of follow-up, so let’s keep the conversation going on future calls. The recording of that call is available, and you can reach out to Li directly to get his slides and work with him on this important concept. Thanks again, Li!
